Menu 25.2  Stop a Printer

Stop the CPU from continuing to send a print job to the printer.  This is a two-step process: the first step will stop the system from filling the printer buffer with a specific print job. The second step is to power the printer off then on.

Even after stopping a job, the printer continues to print until the buffer is cleared.  Therefore, multiple print jobs sent to the printer require multiple stops.

  • Enter printer number to stop a print job, or Enter to cancel.

PRINT JOB RUNNING ON PRINTER 0 HAS BEEN ABORTED...

THE PRINTER WILL CONTINUE TO PRINT UNTIL ITS BUFFER IS EMPTIED.
ANY OTHER PRINT JOBS QUEUED TO THAT PRINTER WILL PRINT NORMALLY.

 HIT RETURN:

Enter to proceed

  • After the print job has been stopped,  the print job may still need to be cleared from the printer buffer, to do this turn the printer off, wait 30 seconds, turn the printer back on.
