Material Safety Data Sheets - New Order Entry Options

How this program will work in Order Entry:

Enter a part number
Enter
the quantity.
If the part number entered is flagged by Corp. as requiring an MSDS, a notification will be displayed, and depending on your parameter (35.1, screen 3, field 8) settings, the computer will look on the server to see if an MSDS exists for that product and if it does, give you the opportunity to print it.

There are a few different messages that may be displayed on the screen, each will be immediately after you enter a quantity. An explaination of each follows:

  • If you have your parameter set to 2, Notify with Print Option, and the part number entered is flagged by Corp. as requiring an MSDS, but the port that you are currently on does not have a printer number designated in the Signature Capture Port Parameters (Menu 35.13, field 4) (See Figure 1) you will receive the following message:

    Press <enter> to continue.

    (Figure 1)

  • If you have your parameter set to 2 and the part number entered requires an MSDS, but the MSDS cannot be located on your server, you will receive the following message:

    Press <enter> to continue.
  • If you have your parameter set to 2, and the part number entered requires an MSDS, AND the above two checks good, you will receive the following message:

Press 'Y' to print, or just press <enter> to ignore the message and not print.
  • If you have your parameter set to 1, Notification Only, and the part number entered requires an MSDS, the following message will be displayed:

    Press <enter> to continue.
