PROGRAMMING FUNCTION KEYS IN ACCUTERM
The system Function keys (F1-F12) and most of the keypad editing keys can be programmed to automatically run menu sequences or macro commands. The Control + F1 through the Control + F12 key, the Alt + F1 through the Alt + F12 key and the Shift + F1 through Shift + F12 can also be programmed. This preprogrammed sequence will be executed when one of the Function Keys (F1-F12) is pressed while holding down the CTRL key, the ALT or the SHIFT key.
The base package preprograms eight function keys, these function keys are reset each time a user logs on to the system. The following Normal (preprogrammed) function keys are programmed with system defaults, F1/'END', F4/'INQ', F5/'CASHT', F6/'CASH', F7/'CODT', F8/'COD', F9/'C99100'. When the F1 key is pressed, the user will "END" out of the current screen.
Shortcuts can be created to take users through several keystrokes, for an example, to program the CTRL+F2 key to go directly to Customer Master Maintenance <on a PC connection using Accuterm> Select Tools, Settings, Keyboard and then the Control Tab. To program the CTRL+F2 key to run the menu sequence 12.2.2.2, go to the F2 line and enter 12.2.2.2^(shift 6)M this will display as 12.2.2.2^M, Then select Apply, Okay, File and Save to keep the changes.
From any menu press the F2 function key while holding down the CTRL key, and the user will go directly to CUSTOMER MASTER MAINTENANCE - SCREEN 1.
Preprogrammed function keys can make getting around the system much easier, especially for new staff members. They are very helpful when using the forecast system (27.5) to look at other stores, and to move much faster thru the forecast by eliminating keystrokes. Try it, you will save an unbelievable amount of time. |
