How to Maintain Complete and Up-to-Date Pricing

There are two product/price transmissions available from the corporate server.  Prodtrans is a complete record of all catalog products and their associated data.  Ptrans contains only the cumulative records of catalog products in which one or more data fields have been changed since the first of the current month.  On the 24th of each month corporate updates the ptrans file with the following month’s prices. 

The Cost transmission (ctrans) and the Price transmission (ptrans) will run every day during the End-of-Day processing. 

During the End of Month, the system will prompt; do you wish to update pricing?  “Y***” / “N”.  When you answer “Y***” the system will pull the current ptrans file off the corporate server and will also update the ptrans file on your system.  When answering “N” the system will still pull the ptrans file off the corporate server but will NOT update the ptrans file on your system until menu path 32.2.1 UPDATE PRODUCT FILE WITH PRICE TRANSMISSION, is run. 

The Prodtrans file only needs to be pulled from the corporate server when monthly ptrans transmissions have be overlooked.  DST can assist in determining if a complete prodtrans transmission, menu 32.20, is needed.

A parameter may be set to update OEM prices automatically during the End-of-Month processing.  Menu 35.10 field 6.  Update Old OEM Prices during EOM, set to 'Y'.  If parameter is set to 'N', then Menu 12.3. 36. Update Old OEM Part Prices will need to be run manually after the EOM and after Menu 32.2.1 Price Transmission Update is run.
