EXECUTIVE REPORTING
Executive Reporting has been installed in eight 8 store locations. We will be installing Executive Reporting on those stores' systems that have either a Linux file server or enough free disk space on their Rs6000 main servers. Each install can take up to four hours, including some training with the store owners.
If you have the requisite disk space or file server and are ready to get Executive Reporting installed, please email me at reggie.beck@johnstonesupply.com and I will add your store to the install list.
Executive Reporting Tool and the Requirements For Using It.

· WHAT IS IT? Executive Reporting is a Windows-based, high-level, reporting tool that gives owners and managers an executive level look at their business. Information is organized and presented using popular Windows formats. Data from your D3 business server is collected daily and can be viewed in daily, monthly or year-to-date formats. Owners can control who can access the data and what data they can access by creating user codes and passwords. Users can be given access to selected information tabs and locked out of others. · WHAT CAN IT DO? The Executive Reporting Tool gives you a central place to look at all facets of your business. Each area of business interest is represented by a TAB, which can be selected using your PC mouse. The information under each TAB is selectable by period, such as daily, month-to-date, year-to-date and in some cases the last twelve months. A daily TOP TEN list of detailed information can be found in most of the business TABS. By ‘double-clicking’ your mouse on a top ten line, you will drill down to more detailed information about the transaction. Information can be viewed for all locations combined or for a single branch. Gross profit% goals and Sales projections can be set up for each fiscal month for each location. Your actual sales are then graphed against your goals giving you a visual picture of how your stores are doing against those goals.
Business information tabs: 1. STORE PAGE Displays daily, monthly and year-to-date sales, profit$ and profit percents versus projected sales goals. 2. INVOICING Displays daily, monthly and year-to-date invoice information. Further TAB selectable by Pay Methods, Ship Methods, Credits/Refunds, Other invoice types and Top Ten invoices. 3. SERVICE Displays Fill Rates by Lines, Units and Sales dollars. Further TAB selectable for products that are Backordered/Below ROP, Top Selling products, Price overrides, Price holds, Prices below Cost, Warranty or Credit returns. 4. PURCHASING Displays Daily, Monthly and Year-to-date Purchasing information. Further TAB selectable for PO types, Overdue/Outstanding PO’s, other types of PO’s and Top Ten Po’s. 5. INVENTORY Displays inventory value, number of total products in inventory, number of products in each ABC product category. Displays Excess Inventory. 6. ACCOUNTS PAYABLE Displays AP aging information by vendor. Currently, this TAB is under construction and will be released at a later date. 7. ACCOUNTS RECEIVABLE Displays current AR balance, total overdue amounts and all aging brackets (30,60,90,120). Shows all customers with an AR balance. 8. BANK Currently under Development. 9. TOP CUSTOMERS/VENDORS Displays your sales by Customer and purchases and sales by Vendor. 10. COMPANY DATA This is where you maintain your company data. Here you can enter new locations or add users able to access your Executive Reporting Tool. This is where you enter your Sales goals and other pertinent information.
· WHAT DO I NEED TO DO? There are two parts to the Executive Reporting Tool: the server part (your D3 server) where our software will gather and prepare the data for exporting to your PC; and the PC Client part which you will need to load on your PC or PC’s. We recommend a PC that is running Windows XP or 2000 with 256mb of memory.
Through our testing, we have found that the Executive Reporting Tool works most efficiently while using a Linux file server on your network. We have incorporated the use of the Signature Capture Linux server for use with the Executive Reporting Tool. If you do not have a Linux server on your network, the installation of the Executive Reporting Tool is more extensive and time consuming and requires us to load special software on your Aix server to be able to use the Tool. We strongly recommend the use of a Linux file server with the Executive Reporting Tool.
We will load the Executive Reporting data gathering software on your D3 server and set up all the files needed to support this function.
On the Inventory TAB, we show you Excess Inventory products. We recognize that at times you will be making large buys of products in pre-season orders. To not show these pre-season-buy products you will need to enter them into a new Exempt Entry screen on MENU 35.21.1.
You will need to set up all your Shipping Method codes with the proper Shipping types: Counter, Delivery and Ship. This can be done from MENU.12.2.13.
Once you have the Executive Reporting Tool client software loaded on a PC, you will need to enter your Company Sale’s projections, set up your branch locations and other employee user codes and passwords.
Lastly, get on your PC everyday and bring up your new Executive Reporting Tool.
· INSTALLATION AND COSTS? As stated above the installation of the Executive Reporting Tool software works best with a Linux fileserver on your network. If that is not possible we can use your RS6000 Aix server (running your DST business software) if you have enough disk space available on your Aix side of the computer and enough memory. If not, talk to Mark or Paul on the DST staff to see about ordering a new RS6000 server.
If you already have an NT fileserver on your network, we will work with you to use your NT server for the host fileserver of the Executive Reporting data; however, the installation time required may be more than our standard 4 hours allotted and will be billed at $125 per hour.
INSTALL COSTS: * Our standard installations may take up to 4 hours, which we will provide free. Non-standard installations will be billed at $125 per hour over 4 hours. Options: § Add a Linux Server: $ 3,350.00 § Refurbished RS6000 $ 4,500.00 § Non-Standard Install costs $ 125/per hour
· All option costs are approximate and can change due to different hardware configurations requested. The costs do include installation and configuration.
